There’s some confusion in the transition from the first game to the second whether or not Starkiller is a clone. He was killed at the end of the first game, but in the Star Wars universe, characters can appear dead, only to be revived later in a Bacta tank. It’s said repeatedly that it’s impossible to clone Force-sensitive people, as the Midichlorians themselves interfere with the process, yet Darth Vader has Starkiller convinced that he is. Depending on which canon source you look at (Game, Novel, or Comic Book), each are vague in one direction or another.
For the sake of simplicity, my interpretation will be that Starkiller is not a clone, but was submerged in Bacta after he defeated Emperor Palpatine on the Death Star, as Darth Vader wanted to attempt to clone Starkiller, but needed the original alive in order to make Memory Flashes in order to train the clone batches (as one needs a living brain in order to copy memories). After copying Starkiller’s memories, Darth Vader used Sith techniques to attempt to wipe Starkiller’s memory, so that he would have a backup plan should the clones fail. Vader then fed Starkiller’s own memories back into his mind, but fragmented in such a way that Darth Vader could manipulate Starkiller into the belief that he was an expendable clone. Additional proof is in Starkiller’s medical designation “Subject 1138”, which is used in the first game when Darth Vader has him brought to the experimental medical frigate “The Empirical”, and in the second in the cloning facility on Kamino that Starkiller escapes from, which is staffed by Imperial personnel.
Thus, Starkiller is not a clone, but has been manipulated into the belief that he is. This is all headcanon, mind you, but it fills out his story in such a way as to clear up the confusion regarding his story from the first game to the second.
Setting Concepts:
The Force - An invisible energy that surrounds all living things, it’s what allows Force-sensitive individuals to use abilities like Telekinesis, and the Jedi Mind Trick. Starkiller is shown to be one of the most powerful wielders of The Force at the time, stronger even than Darth Vader, and on equal footing with Emperor Palpatine.
The Dark Side - The Force alignment that Starkiller spent most of his life being trained in, Starkiller spent years in isolation, with only his droid for company, to hone his anger to the razor-sharp point that fuels his mastery over the Dark Side. It causes him to be mercilessly heavy-handed when it comes to combat.
Darth Vader - One of the strongest Sith Lords of his day, and Starkiller’s Sith Master and nemesis. Vader killed Kento Marek (Starkiller’s father) and kidnapped Starkiller at Emperor Palpatine’s behest, to train the boy into believing he was to be used as a weapon against Palpatine, but in truth were using him to bring together the Rebel Alliance, so they could be killed in one fell swoop.
The Rebel Alliance - An alliance of senators from the former Galactic republic, Starkiller was instrumental in gathering them together, and proving to them that the Empire could be defeated. He later becomes a martyr, galvanizing the senators to officially rebel, and take Starkiller’s family crest as their symbol.
Juno Eclipse - The last pilot assigned by Darth Vader to Starkiller’s personal starship, Starkiller would eventually fall hopelessly in love with Juno, with her acting as his conscience, causing him to disobey Darth Vader, and calling him out when it’s revealed that Starkiller was still loyal to Vader after he began gathering the Rebel Alliance. After being resurrected by Vader, Starkiller was single-minded in his pursuit of Juno, wanting more than anything just to see her again. Juno is both Starkiller’s greatest source of strength, and greatest weakness.
Personality:
Conflict is at the very core of Starkiller’s nature. He was all of 5 or 6 years old when he was first taken from Kashyyyk, and he spent 15 or so years under the care of Darth Vader. It’s said that while Vader did his best to mold Starkiller into the perfect Sith Assassin, he was never outright cruel to Starkiller, taking care to provide Starkiller with the focus he needed to maintain his hatred of the Empire (for taking his father from him, as Vader had done it on Emperor Palpatine’s orders), and of Vader himself. Vader also provided Starkiller with the training droid PROXY, who would play the dual role of friend and enemy, as PROXY was programmed to attempt to kill Starkiller whenever the opportunity arose, when he wasn’t caring for Starkiller’s every other need.
Starkiller’s personality would undergo its most dramatic shift when he was introduced to his new pilot, Juno Eclipse. Though he initially held her at arm’s length, seeing her only as a means to get where he needed to go (which, realistically, he could have done himself), he would eventually warm up to her, deliberately disobeying Darth Vaders orders to save her when instructed to cut all ties with his past, when he was given the mission to gather the Rebel Alliance. Her presence in his life from this point on would provide him with a voice of reason, causing him to genuinely commit to his cause for his own reasons, rather than the orders he was given. She caused further conflict, as Starkiller had been blindly loyal to Darth Vader up until that point, and he had to choose between his loyalty to Vader, and his budding feelings for Juno.
After Starkiller’s resurrection, he initially sought out his Jedi Master, Rahm Kota, hoping for advice and guidance, as he believe himself to be a clone. He wanted to find Juno, but Kota wanted him to rejoin the Rebellion he’d started, seeing him as little more than a figurehead and a weapon. He was torn by his love for Juno, his desire to help Kota, and his own confusion regarding the truth of his identity.
Ultimately, Starkiller is ruled by rage, pessimism, compassion, and love. What you get from him is ultimately dependent on what you give in turn.

He was trained in multiple lightsabers forms (notably Ataru, Vapaad, Shien, and Soresu) and wields two lightsabers (though he was originally trained in single-saber use). He is able to use Force Push (ant it’s subskill, Force Repulse) and Force Grip to high degrees, to the point of pulling an Imperial Star Destroyer out of the exosphere of a planet and send it crashing to the ground. He is also capable of a simplified form of Mind Trick, able to send simple commands to weak-minded individuals in his vicinity that they will be unable to resist doing. He is also capable of using Force Lightning, with only Emperor Palpatine being his equal in its use. He can use Saber Throw, able to throw both of his lightsabers far distances away to strike distant targets.

As large as Tu Vishan was, Starkiller nevertheless walked everywhere he went as though he was still trapped in a submerged cage on Kamino. He couldn’t bring himself to trust anyone or anything here, no matter how peaceful it seemed. He had been taken, against his will, when he had been fighting harder than he had ever fought before to find Juno. As far as he was concerned, she was his everything now. Whatever Vader had done to him had made him almost completely apathetic about his parents, and even the Rebellion he’d helped start, and had made him focus exclusively on Juno. It didn’t feel right to him, but he couldn’t stop himself.
He’d heard a name floating on the lips of some of the locals “Anakin”. Just hearing the name made his blood boil. Though Darth Vader’s original identity had been a closely guarded secret in the Empire for many years, Starkiller knew it. It was one of the few things that Vader had ever seen fit to reveal about himself to Starkiller and had, ironically enough, done so in order to convince the young Galen Marek to give up his birth name. He’d claimed that Anakin was weak, and becoming Darth Vader had made him strong enough to do as he wished. Though if it truly was Anakin Skywalker, and not Darth Vader, did he have any real right to hate him? Yet another thing for him to struggle with, as if the crippling migraines and visions weren’t bad enough.

After a few moments, however, Starkiller opens his eyes. It’s fairly easy to tell that something’s bothering him. For all his training on controlling his emotions, he’d never been very good at not showing what he felt on the outside.]
I…I need help. There was…something kept from me, where I came from. Something important.
[He pinches the bridge of his nose as a vision comes and goes.]
I was…told that I’m the clone of a dead man, that…my memories aren’t really mine. I need to find out if any of this is true. I can’t offer anything in compensation except my gratitude.
[He pauses, sighing.]
I just need to know if I’m really me, or if he’s still out there somewhere.
